Standard Off The Shelf Sizes
Off-the-shelf size hearths are a cost-effective option with a quicker turnaround compared to custom-cut alternatives, making them ideal for DIY installations or projects in a hurry. These hearths come in standard sizes that may fit perfectly without the need for cutting. They feature quarry-cut edges, which may not have the precision of custom-cut hearths, but offer a practical, budget-friendly solution for many applications.
FAQs for Off-The-Shelf Standard Hearths
What is an off-the-shelf standard hearth?
An off-the-shelf standard hearth is a pre-designed, ready-made hearth that comes in fixed sizes and shapes. These are ideal for customers who need a straightforward, no-fuss solution and don’t require custom dimensions or designs.
Are the off-the-shelf sizes the exact size advertised?
The sizes provided for our off-the-shelf hearths are guide sizes and may include a slight tolerance. Typically, this tolerance will be slightly larger (0-2 cm) and, very rarely, will it be under 0.5 cm. Please keep this in mind when planning for your installation, but rest assured, the differences are minimal and will not affect the overall fit in most cases.
Are the edges finished?
We offer two edge finishes for our hearths:
- Rustic Dressed Edge: These edges are hand-chiselled to create a distressed, natural finish, giving each hearth a unique and rustic appearance.
- Square Sawn Edge: These edges are quarry-finished and are not further refined by us. As a result, there may be (though not always) slight chipping or markings along the edges. This finish is perfect for those who appreciate an imperfect, raw look that adds character to the hearth.
Do these come sealed, or can I select to have them sealed?
Off-the-shelf hearths do not come sealed, and unfortunately, sealing is not an optional add-on.
Will this arrive quicker than a bespoke custom-made hearth?
Yes, off-the-shelf standard hearths typically arrive much quicker than bespoke custom-made hearths. Since they are pre-designed and ready for shipment, they usually have a shorter processing time. In contrast, bespoke hearths are made to your exact specifications and require additional time for design, production, and finishing.
