FAQs

What sizes do your stone steps come in?

Our natural stone steps are available in widths of 600mm, 900mm, and 1200mm. Bullnose steps come in depths of 300mm or 450mm and are 30mm thick. Rustic dressed steps come in depths of 250mm or 300mm and are either 50mm or 80–100mm thick. Check the individual listing for the full-size options, or get in touch and we'll help.

How thick are the stone steps?

Bullnose stone steps are 30mm thick. Rustic dressed steps are available in two thicknesses - 50mm and 80–100mm. Check the individual listing for full dimensions.

What's the difference between bullnose and rustic dressed stone steps?

Bullnose stone steps are 30mm thick stone treads with a smooth, rounded front edge - clean and contemporary in finish. Rustic dressed steps are a thicker, solid stone with a hand-cut face, giving a chunkier, more traditional look.

Are the stone steps slip resistant?

Yes. Natural stone steps provide good grip thanks to their naturally riven or hand-cut finish. To keep them performing well, make sure the area has proper drainage and clean them periodically to prevent moss or algae build-up.

Do the steps need sealing?

Natural stone steps arrive unsealed. We'd recommend applying a quality outdoor stone sealer before use - it protects against staining, enhances the colour, and makes cleaning easier.

Do you supply matching risers?

No, we don't supply matching risers. Most customers use brick, block, or their existing walling material to build up the risers beneath each tread.

Are your stone steps frost resistant?

Yes. Natural sandstone and limestone are dense and durable enough to handle British winters and are suitable for year-round outdoor use.
