Our White and Cream Paving slab range includes both natural stone and porcelain options, all designed to give your garden a fresh, light look. These colours work well with just about any setting, from modern builds to traditional homes, and they pair nicely with darker edging or garden features for extra contrast. The porcelain ranges are low maintenance and non-slip, while the natural stone options offer real texture and a softer finish. At Primethorpe Paving, we stock a wide selection of light paving to suit every style and budget, from affordable Indian porcelain to top-end Italian designs. If you’re after that clean, bright finish that makes a space feel open and tidy, white and cream paving is the way to go.

FAQs

Do white and cream paving slabs stain easily?

Less than people expect. Porcelain is fired dense enough that liquids sit on the surface rather than soaking in, so spilled wine, barbecue grease and suncream wipe off if you deal with them reasonably promptly. What does mark light paving is anything left standing for weeks: a planter with no feet, wet leaves piled in a corner over winter, or a metal chair leg that starts to rust. None of those are permanent, but they take more scrubbing than a fresh spill.

Will white porcelain go yellow over time?

The tile itself will not. The colour is fired into the surface at high temperature and holds up in UV light, so it does not bleach or yellow the way a painted or resin finish would. Yellow patches on pale paving almost always come from something else, usually tannins leaching out of fallen leaves, bark chippings or timber above the patio. Move the source and clean the surface and the colour comes back.

Do white & cream paving slabs show algae and green growth more than dark paving?

Yes, and it is the honest trade-off with light paving. Algae grows on any outdoor surface given damp and shade, but on a pale slab you see the green tint weeks before you would notice it on anthracite. The upside is that it is entirely surface level on porcelain, so a patio cleaner and a stiff brush deals with it. Once or twice a year is usually enough.

Are white and cream paving slabs cooler underfoot than dark ones?

They are. Pale surfaces reflect more heat than they absorb, so a white patio stays noticeably more comfortable than a black one on a hot afternoon. If you have a south facing garden that gets full sun through the middle of the day, or children and dogs out on the patio barefoot in summer, this is a genuine reason to go light rather than dark.
