| Natural Characteristics | |
| General Nature | Absolute Black Granite from India is a dense, fine-grained igneous stone with a tight crystal structure. The surface is mechanically honed to create a flatter, smoother finish while retaining its natural mineral speckling and subtle movement. |
| Colour Profile | Although marketed as “absolute black”, genuine granite will show fine specks and slight tonal shifts rather than a flat, jet-black paint-like finish. When sealed, the colour deepens to a rich, uniform-looking black while the natural speckle and grain remain visible on close inspection. |
| Mineral Movement | Natural crystal distribution creates tiny specks, pinpoints of lighter or darker minerals and some mottling. Occasional faint lines or changes in grain direction may be present and are typical of natural granite. |
| Honed Surface Features | The honing process may produce faint tooling lines, micro-pits, slight sheen variation and small filled areas within the surface. These are normal characteristics of honed granite and do not affect performance. |
| Natural Markings | You may see small natural fissures, crystal clusters, pinpoint pits, darker or lighter specks and subtle flow lines. These are inherent features of granite and should be expected in a genuine stone hearth. |
| Pyrite / Metallic Inclusions | Occasional tiny metallic or reflective mineral flecks may appear within the stone or on cut edges. These are natural inclusions and not faults. |
| Production Enhancements | Enhancements may include resin or epoxy fillers, localised smoothing, edge refinement and colour-enhancing treatments. These are standard practices for honed natural granite. |
| Application & Packaging | |
| Suitable For | Fire hearths, stove bases, inglenooks, chamber floors. |
| Application | Internal use only. |
| Sealing | Strongly recommended to deepen colour, reduce fingerprinting and improve resistance to marking. |
| Installation Notes | Install on a stable, level substrate. Keep away from direct flame and allow suitable movement joints where required. |
| Packaging | Supplied on wooden pallets/crates with protective layers. |
| Availability | Cut-to-size: 20mm, 30mm and 50mm |
FAST UK DELIVERY — PRICED FAIRLY AND TRANSPARENTLY
We believe delivery should be clear, honest, and consistent. That’s why we don’t advertise “free delivery” while quietly building the cost into product prices or adding unexpected surcharges later in the checkout.
Instead, we charge delivery separately and transparently, so you can see exactly what you’re paying for, and so customers who order smaller quantities aren’t unfairly subsidising larger deliveries.
We deliver across the UK, including the Scottish Highlands & Isles, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man.
WHY WE DON’T OFFER “FREE DELIVERY”
There’s no such thing as truly free delivery — the cost has to be covered somewhere. Some retailers do this by:
- Increasing product prices to absorb delivery costs, or
- Adding extra charges at checkout (often based on delivery size/weight or certain postcodes)
Our approach is simple:
- Product prices stay product prices.
- Delivery is shown clearly and charged based on what it actually costs to send your order safely and on time.
DELIVERY CALCULATIONS
Delivery is calculated based on factors such as:
- Order size and weight
- The type of goods being shipped
- Delivery method (parcel, courier, pallet)
- Delivery location within the UK
You’ll always see the delivery cost clearly before you pay — simply enter your postcode at checkout and your delivery options will appear.
DISPATCH & DELIVERY TIMES
We aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible, usually within 1–2 working days (subject to stock and order volume).
Delivery times vary depending on your location and the delivery method selected.
