Kota Black Limestone Paving Slabs (Kadappa Black)

Upgrade your garden or patio for less with Kota Black Limestone Paving — also known as Kadappa Black Limestone. This sleek, contemporary stone is the most affordable natural stone paving we stock, offering a premium look at a budget-friendly price. With its smooth surface and rich black tones, it’s ideal for modern outdoor designs that demand style and value.

Product Overview

Kota Black Limestone is sourced directly from quarries in India. In its natural state, the stone appears charcoal grey, but when wet or sealed, it deepens into a stunning, jet-black colour. To maintain this darker appearance, a colour-enhancing sealer must be used — standard sealers will not achieve the same rich black finish.

Kota Black Limestone – Important Product Information

Our Kota Black Limestone is a durable, hardwearing natural stone perfect for stylish outdoor areas. In its natural state, it has a mid to dark charcoal-grey tone, which darkens dramatically when wet or sealed. To achieve and maintain this deep black finish, a colour-enhancing sealer is essential — a standard sealer will not produce the same result.

Natural Characteristics

As a natural stone, Kota Black Limestone displays subtle variations in tone, texture, and pattern that add to its authentic charm. You may notice fine white lines or streaks on the surface — these are calcite veins, formed naturally over millions of years when minerals filled small fissures within the stone. They are a normal and desirable feature that does not affect durability or strength.

Occasionally, lighter patches or fossil-style markings may also appear, enhancing the stone’s unique, natural appearance. These variations ensure that every installation has its own distinct character and appeal.

Sawn Edge & Chipping Notice

This limestone features a sawn edge, giving it a refined and contemporary look once laid. However, due to the nature of the material and the packing and delivery process, minor chipping can occur on edges or corners. The stone is extremely hard but slightly brittle, meaning small chips are occasionally unavoidable. These are typically limited to the edges or underside of slabs, though in rare cases, they may appear on the top surface.

Please note: We cannot offer replacements for minor chipping, as this is a natural and expected characteristic of the stone and part of its production process. As Kota Black Limestone is our most affordable paving option, we recommend ordering a little extra to allow for selection during installation or to account for minor imperfections.
