Kota Blue Limestone – Important Product Information

In its dry state, Kota Blue Limestone displays a gentle blue-grey tone, which darkens to a deeper, richer colour when wet or sealed. To achieve and maintain this enhanced finish, we recommend applying a colour-enhancing sealer. Standard sealers will protect the surface but will not intensify the colour in the same way.

Natural Characteristics

As a natural stone, Kota Blue Limestone will feature subtle variations in tone and texture that make each slab unique. Fine white streaks known as calcite veins may appear on the surface — these mineral lines are a natural formation created over millions of years and do not affect the stone’s performance or strength. Occasional lighter patches or mineral markings may also be present, enhancing the authentic beauty of the material.

Sawn Edge & Chipping Notice

This limestone is supplied with sawn edges for a crisp, contemporary finish. During packing and transport, minor chipping can occur along the edges or corners — a natural result of the stone’s density and brittleness. These small imperfections are generally located on the underside or edges and do not affect installation or appearance once laid.

Please note: Minor edge chips are considered a normal characteristic of natural limestone paving and are not eligible for replacement. We recommend ordering a small amount of extra material to allow for selection and trimming during installation.
