How to Use Around a Hearth
- Prepare – ensure the hearth edge and adjoining surface are clean, dry and free from dust, grease and loose material.
- Mask – masking tape can be applied along both sides of the joint to help achieve a neat finish.
- Apply – apply a smooth, continuous bead of Mapesil AC into the expansion gap between the hearth and wall.
- Finish – tool the silicone down neatly so the finished joint is low profile and level with the hearth surface, then remove masking tape before the sealant skins.
