Rustic Copper Slate (Vijaya Slate) – Important Product Information
As this is a natural stone, colour tones vary from batch to batch depending on the quarry source at the time of cutting. Please contact us if you’d like to discuss current batch colours before purchasing. Images shown are for reference only.
Natural Characteristics
This is a riven slate, meaning it is split along its natural layers. These layers can make the stone slightly flaky in places, particularly during the first winter after installation, when frost and moisture naturally loosen any weak layers. This process is completely normal and helps the surface stabilise into a durable, long-lasting finish.
To accelerate this natural weathering, a gentle pressure wash after installation and before jointing can help remove any loose surface material. This initial flaking, or delamination, is an inherent feature of natural slate and not a fault or defect.
Edges & Chipping
Due to the natural make-up of slate and the way it is cut to size, minor chipping along edges and corners is normal. These small imperfections are part of the authentic look of riven slate paving and blend seamlessly once installed.
FAST UK DELIVERY — PRICED FAIRLY AND TRANSPARENTLY
We believe delivery should be clear, honest, and consistent. That’s why we don’t advertise “free delivery” while quietly building the cost into product prices or adding unexpected surcharges later in the checkout.
Instead, we charge delivery separately and transparently, so you can see exactly what you’re paying for, and so customers who order smaller quantities aren’t unfairly subsidising larger deliveries.
We deliver across the UK, including the Scottish Highlands & Isles, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isle of Man.
WHY WE DON’T OFFER “FREE DELIVERY”
There’s no such thing as truly free delivery — the cost has to be covered somewhere. Some retailers do this by:
- Increasing product prices to absorb delivery costs, or
- Adding extra charges at checkout (often based on delivery size/weight or certain postcodes)
Our approach is simple:
- Product prices stay product prices.
- Delivery is shown clearly and charged based on what it actually costs to send your order safely and on time.
DELIVERY CALCULATIONS
Delivery is calculated based on factors such as:
- Order size and weight
- The type of goods being shipped
- Delivery method (parcel, courier, pallet)
- Delivery location within the UK
You’ll always see the delivery cost clearly before you pay — simply enter your postcode at checkout and your delivery options will appear.
DISPATCH & DELIVERY TIMES
We aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible, usually within 1–2 working days (subject to stock and order volume).
Delivery times vary depending on your location and the delivery method selected.
If your order is urgent, please contact us and we’ll do our best to help.
